Hotel Dip Palace

Everything about this hotel is really good. Super affordable. The only thing I didn't like is the dirty ambiance around the hotel periphery and stairs leading to the hotel entrance, which also might have felt a little more untidy because of the rainy season. But else, the location is very reachable. Keventers and Kunga are just around the corner.

I and my friends/family have been boarding this budget friendly hotel since 2021 and would have rated 5/5 today also, provided I didn't have the experience last week. Their hospitality used to be top-notch for a low-budget hotel. But then again, maintaining the goodwill is not priority for all. Reasons: 1. Booked room with breakfast through cleartrip for 4-6 January. No tea or breakfast was offered on 5th. When asked later, they told booking didn't include complimentary breakfast. Few hours later we get a call that it was a mistake from their end and they'll provide breakfast on 6th. We didn't complain to Cleartrip out of a goodwill gesture. 2. Extra bed was booked additionally on top of our two days booking at the cost of 600/- per night. The mattress offered was hardly a 3 inch thick one, unlike the regular 6/7 inch ones. 3. The geyser was fitted on top of the sink and it kept dripping water. When complained, they reluctantly said plumber needs to fix it but never called a plumber. The entire time we used the sink, with water dripping on us. 4. No complimentary tea/coffee kit or toiletries as mentioned in amenities. 5. The room we boarded did not have any daylight being on the backside, but it was the only room where an extra mattress would fit. On the day of our check-out, there was a powercut since morning and we were unable to pack our luggage in the dark, or recharge our devices. We requested them to provide power backup for atleast an hour so that we can get things done. But they bluntly refused saying power backup is only for evening (nowhere mentioned in their amenities). We repeatedly requested saying we're travelling for atleast next 20 hours and won't be able to access charging points, but got same response. I wouldn't have highlighted all these issues. But if someone is so strict about their policies in the name of professionalism, they should expect the same in return. Will it be my go-to-place during my upcoming trips? Not anymore!

Rooms are bit small but well decorated and clean. For mountains view take rooms of 3rd and 4th floor. This hotel is just few meters away from Smart Bazar and Inox some where around 100 to 200 meters and almost 200 to 300 meters away from Taxi stand. From where one can get reserve cars and sharing taxies for Siliguri and Gangtok. There are sharing taxies available for Tiger Hills as well.

Stayed here with my family for 4 nights. I must say it was a splendid experience apart from a few points! First let me enlighten on the good part, like the location of the hotel is excellent!! Like it’s just 5 mins walk from Mall Road, & you get all the major restaurants, gift shops and tea-shops nearby. Which is really good. Then the behaviour of staff & owner was really warm. They listened to our orders & did exactly what we said. Their hospitality and co’operation was nice. They made sure we the 2 ladies are safe and comfortable. Now comes the drawbacks of this hotel like - in order to reach this hotel you need to climb up a series of steep staircases which was a big problem for my elderly mother with leg pain. Also I feel the rooms could have been a bit larger with ambient lighting which it lacked, given the prices that they are charging. One more thing is we missed the view that one wishes from his/her room when in Darjeeling. Not once but twice, even after changing the room we didn’t get a good view of the Mountains even in the 5th floor of the hotel. So I would love it if the hotel works on these areas! Food is really good, we availed all three sections like breakfast, lunch and dinner & three times it was good quality and delicious. I recommend this hotel strongly and wish to come back soon. :)

My stay at this beautiful hotel was for 3 nights. Best part about this hotel is its location. It is located very close to the mall road. Keventer's & Glenary's also very near to it. Rooms are bit small but I have no issue since those were well furnished, neat & cleaned. Staff behavior were very friendly and helpful. Overall, I would surely recommend this hotel for pleasant stay.
